There is a Divinity, higher than humanity that is behind and beneath all man's activities. But, man is not aware of it and he fails to benefit by that awareness. His first task is to cognize this source of joy and peace. That Divinity is like the thread in which the flowers are strung; we see only the garland; we do not cognize that string that holds the flowers together and makes a garland out of a heap of blossoms. Mankind is strung together by this inherent Divinity.

神性超越人性，並在所有人類活動背後發揮影響力。然而，人並沒有意識到它，自然也就無法從中受益。人的首要之務就是認知這喜樂與和平的泉源，神性就像將花朵穿引起來的線，我們只看見花環，從不覺知串起朵朵鮮花的棉線。人類就是由那與生俱來的神性所串接起來的。

Life on earth is, as on the ocean, ever restless, surrounded as it is by waves of joy and grief, loss and gain, by swirling currents of desire and whirlpools of passion, greed and hate. To cross the ocean, the only reliable raft is a heart filled with the Love of God and man. Man is born to achieve a high destiny as the inheritor of a rich heritage. He should not fritter his days away in low pursuits and vulgar vanities. His destiny is to know the Truth, and live in it and for it. The Truth alone can make man free, happy and bold. If he is not prompted by this high purpose, life is a waste, a mere tossing on the waves, for the sea of life is never calm.

                                           拓展愛的勢能

在世上，生活就像海洋一樣，永不停歇，它被如海浪般的歡樂與悲傷、失與
得，以及如漩渦般的熱情、貪婪及憎恨所圍繞，要橫跨海洋，唯一信賴的竹筏，就是一顆充滿愛神與愛人的心。人生下來就是要達至更高的境界，成為無上財富的繼承人，他不應浪費時間在追尋低下的事物及粗俗的虛榮上。他本來就是要了解真理，並生活在真理、為真理而活的，真理本身就可以使人自由、快樂、無畏。如果他沒有被這高尚的意志所激勵，人生是一種浪費，只是隨波逐流罷了，為人生的海洋是永遠沒有平靜的時候。 

賽巴巴箴言

You cannot find peace outside. It is within your heart, so search within. The heart is always filled with peace, love and bliss. It is the basis of all the sacred qualities, such as compassion, love, tolerance etc. All that emanates from your heart is sacred. It is attachment to the body that is the cause of all the evil qualities, such as desire, anger, greed, pride, and jealousy. People undertake many spiritual practices in an attempt to sanctify their lives but, without purity of heart, these will be of no avail. First purify your heart. Do not give any scope for wicked feelings such as desire, anger and greed. In the spiritual path, these three are the worst enemies.

淨化心靈

你無法在外面找到和平，它在你的心中，因此，向內追尋吧！心總是充滿了和平、愛與喜樂，它是所有神聖特質的基礎，如同情、愛、容忍等，所有源自內心的都是神聖的。所有邪惡的特質，如慾望、怒氣、貪婪、驕傲及嫉妒等，都是因為我們迷戀身體的緣故。許多人從事靈修的活動為的是要聖化自己的人生，但如果沒有純潔的心，是不可能達到的。首先，淨化你的心，不要讓邪惡的感覺，如慾望、怒氣、貪婪等有隙可乘，在靈修的道路上，這三者是最壞的敵人。

賽巴巴箴言

Do not worry about the ups and downs of life, loss or pain, joy or grief. You are yourself the maker of the ups and downs. If you so wish, everything can be on one smooth level. You label one thing as bad and something else as gain. You crave for a thing and, when you get it, you call it joy; if you don’t get it, you call it grief. Cut out the craving, and there will be no more swinging from joy to grief.

If we wish to understand the Divinity that transcends the human understanding, we should seek to reach a level above the human. Till that is reached, we have to experience everything at the human level alone. Living as a human being, how can one recognize that which transcends the human capacity? Therefore, in the first instance, man must try to live as a human being. He has to recognize the divinity that dwells in the human form. Man has to cultivate faith in the truth and live accordingly. Leading a life of dedicated service, man must enjoy the fruit of Prema (Divine Love). The best way to love God is to love all and serve all. - Divine Discourse, April 26, 1993
進展達至神性

如欲了解超越人類所能理解的神性，我們必須想辦法達到超越人性的層次，在那之前，我們必須在人性的層次中經歷所有的事。生而為人，我們如何知道什麼是超出人類所能的呢？首先，人必須要活得像一個人，他必須認清蘊藏在人體中的神性。人必須培養對真理的信心並照此生活，過著專注服務的人生，人一定能享受聖愛的果實。愛神的最好方式就是愛萬物，事萬物。

萬物一體
人們應瞭解世俗娛樂不過是短暫的，青春、財富、子孫也只是一時的，人們應將心念轉向內在的神性。也許有人會問：「如果神性存在萬物當中，那還會有好、壞、真、假之分嗎？」對認定神性存在於萬物當中的人來說，是沒有好與壞之分的，他能在萬物當中見到神性。善與惡之所以不同，完全是因當事人對這兩者抱持不同的看法而已。

Living becomes a glorious experience only when it is sweetened by tolerance and love. Willingness to compromise with other people’s ways of living and cooperation in common tasks, these make one’s life happy and fruitful.

寬容與愛
只有讓寬容與愛來使生命變得甜美，我們的生活才會變成一種榮耀的經驗。願意配合別人的生活方式而做出妥協，以及在普通的任務上互助合作，都會使一個人的生命快樂、富有成效。

Only by following the path of love can you experience bliss. Just as you cannot appease your hunger by merely enumerating the names of the dishes, so do you have to speak sweet words and do sacred actions. Only thus will you enjoy life’s sweetness and be happy. You are all children of immortality and embodiments of bliss (Ananda). It is because you have emerged from bliss that you seek to return to that Source, the bliss. Just as fish born in water cannot live out of water, so does man always crave for happiness, wherever he is and in whatever he does. Man is restless until he returns to the Bliss from whence he emerged. True bliss is not found in this world. Keep your mind always on God – only then will you have peace and happiness.

與源頭相遇

只有透過愛的道路才能感受到至福，就像你的飢餓無法靠著數盤子來滿足一樣，因此你必須說甜美的話並從事聖潔的活動，只有這樣你才會享受到生命的甜美及感到快樂。你們都是不朽的小孩及至福的使者，因為你已與至福合而為一，因此你會急切地想回到源頭，也就是至福處。就像魚無法離水而居，人也總是渴求快樂，無論他身在何處、所做何事，人總是焦躁不安的，直到他回到至福處，也就是他浮現之處。真正的至福無法於俗世中尋得，把你的心念集中於神，只有這樣你才能擁有和平及快樂。

Only when you turn your vision towards God will He turn His vision towards you. Even if God's vision were to turn on you, if you had not, at the same time, turned yours towards Him, you would not have been able to experience His beneficent gaze. Now, all your vision is concentrated on the body. The effulgence of the shining sun may be all around you, but its light will not have entered the room where you are staying. What is the reason for this? You have put curtains and shutters on the windows, and kept the warm rays of the sunlight out. Only when you break open these dark curtains and shutters will the effulgence of the sun enter your apartment. In the same way, you have covered your visior with shutters of doubt and ego and thick  body-consciousness, so the rays of grace are not able to penetrate through and enter your heart. You might say that you have not been able to obtain the grace of God, but how will you get it if you do not turn your gaze on Him?

打開內心的窗簾
只有當你將目光轉向神，祂才會將目光轉向你。即便神會將目光轉向你，若你不即時將目光轉向祂，你也不可能經驗到祂慈善的目光，現今你都將目光集中在身體上。太陽的光輝也許會環繞著你，但它的光並不會因此進入你的房間。為什麼呢？因為你在窗上裝了簾子將溫暖的陽光擋在外面。只有當你將窗簾打開，陽光才會進入你的住所。同樣地你將目光用疑惑、自我及濃厚的身體意識擋住，優雅的光輝便無法穿透並進入你的內心。你或許會說自己從來不曾得到神的恩典，但如果你從來不曾注視祂，你又如何能得到呢？
