MCS Year End Production        We are all media producers now!

Your final piece of coursework assessment for this course is a group project where you will create a media campaign around a theme or topic covered in Block 4: Mediation, Identities and Protest in Contemporary Britain. 

You will need to think of a topic or theme that has caught your interest or imagination from Block 4.  You will need to select from the broad areas of: 
-          Chavs: Social Class, Media and Comedy

-          Unreality: Reality TV, “Bad Parents”, Participants and Audiences (Teenage Pregnancy)

-          Queer Popular Culture (Lesibian/ Gay Culture)

-          Youth and Social Networking Sites: Privacy, Participation and Surveillance

-          Revolt 2.0: Social Media, Riots and Revolutions

For example, you might want to film a comedy that depicts alternative representations of class, or produce a series of magazine front covers that challenge representations of queer identities, or create a viral campaign on the ‘reality’ of reality TV, or organise an event that draws attention to the relationship between social media and issues of surveillance or protest.
