本校創建於1992 年, 以實現佛光山「以教育培養人才」為宗旨,培養學生正統華語運用能力，重視學生健全人格與品德教育，五育並重。中天學校十餘年耕耘逐漸茁壯, 已成為昆世蘭省最大的中文學校。且為普及教化方便學習, 乃於1992年成立黃金海岸分校; 1994年成立西區分校; 2000年再設立北區、東區分校。 至今約有700位學生與60位教職員。行政人員多由義工擔任。學校設有幼兒班、 國小班、國中班 、高中班、成人中文班及 適合非華語背景的漢語拼音中文班。 還有各種才藝班,如:功文數學班、珠心算班、美術班、書法班與太極班等。
Chung Tian Chinese School of Queensland (CTCSQ) was established in 1992 under the guidance of the Principal Master Yi-Lai with the close cooperation of the Acting Principal Christine Liu and the entire teaching staff. Student numbers have increased from 70 to 700, a spectacular achievement.
